COATINGS
& PROCESSES
Our
coating technologies include:

Dry
Film Lubricants
Dry film lubricants are an engineered blend of
organic and inorganic binders and minute particles
of solid lubricating and rheological materials
in a liquid carrier that forms dry, self-lubricating
surfaces. These coatings are used wherever conventional
wet lubricants can not or should not be used because
of high temperatures, extreme loads, corrosion
or other adverse operation conditions.
Microseal®
is our proprietary coating process for the impingement
of ultra thin solid film lubricants. This process
is used for components operating in extreme temperature,
high vacuum and other severe environments and
is extremely effective for anti-galling applications.

solid film lubricants available through E/M Coating

Nonstick/Release
Coatings
Nonstick/release
coatings produce surfaces with low coefficients
of friction that also operate at high temperatures.
They are ideal for low load sliding applications
and the release of high tack materials. Nonstick/release
coatings can be applied to a broad range of metal
substrates as well as elastomerics. These coatings
are PTFE/Fluoropolymer based and include Everlube®,
and Flurene™among others.

Erosion
Resistant Coatings
For
components exposed to abrasive environments, a
variety of multi-layer epoxy and polymeric coatings
are available for protection of the substrate.
The particular coating choice is guided by the
severity of the erosion and the other required
end use properties of the coating.

Primers
for Rubber & Plastics
Manufacturers use sound adsorbing and dampening
materials such as rubber and advanced plastics
in modern automobiles to reduce noise and squeaking.
When it is necessary to bond them to a metal substrate,
the potential for surface corrosion degrading
the bond can be high. To resolve this situation,
specialty coatings are utilized as a primer on
the metal substrate. Then the adhesive is applied,
and the integrity of the bond is ensured.

Coatings
for EMI/RFI Shielding
Our
Evershield® process provides highly conductive
coatings and platings that control electromagnetic
interference on engineered plastics, composites
and other substrates. Processes include spray
applied copper, nickel and silver coatings and
electroless copper/nickel plating.

Coatings
for Corrosion, Chemical & Environmental Protection
These
coatings provide protection from extreme corrodants,
corrosive chemicals and solvents, as well as barrier
protection for the prevention of galvanic corrosion
between dissimilar metals.
Available
technologies include epoxies, phenolics, fluoropoloymers,
nylon and ceramic-metallic hybrid coatings.
